So, my brother accidentally cuts himself on the folding table he uses for his computer. Sure it's about midnight, but some of us are up anyway. I take a look at it, get a second opinion from Mom and we wrap it up. An hour later, he comes in to tell me it's bleeding worse. I look at it again, and again, get Mom. Instead of getting up, Dad wants me to describe it, at 1 am. But, wait, it gets better.

After I put a load of peroxide on it, I hear, "What were you doing, playing video games?" in that tone he uses when he wants to be sure that we realized that he thinks that people who play video games are losers. And, "What, they only got you up to stand there and look at it?" I do believe that is what I asked her to do. I then go looking for the first aid kit. "What are you looking for?" is asked to me like I'm looking through his underwear drawer. When I tell him that I am looking for the first aid kit, "What do you need that for?" I snap and tell him I need to rewrap the wound.

"What's wrong with the stuff you just used?" You mean, besides it being soaked in blood? For someone who claims to know a lot about medical procedures from having so many surgeries, you'd think he'd be smart enough NOT to ask that question. I got pretty snappy back, asked him why he was being a jerk (since I think I have the right to look for a first aid kit in my own house) and received a "F*** you," in response.

Along with that F-You, is a threat to kick to my a**, to which I reply that he can try, I'll just call the cops. That's fine with him, he can just kick me out of the house, and I can't do anything about it. Except that I pay rent, so he can't. Fine, I'll sleep in my car. Mom FINALLY decides to break in and as usual I'm gonna get blamed for having an attitude.

If it weren't for the fact that I can't afford to live alone, and that he needs my help taking care of his mother, who also lives with us, I would be gone. I'd miss my mom too much, too. Let's just say that tonight, or this morning, is the first time I have wanted to legally change my last name back to my biological father's.

Is this some sort of epidemic, or are my brother and I the only ones who get treated more like sh** the older we get?
